Crumpets are small griddled cakes made from a yeast dough mixture containing usually yeast, water or milk, Baking soda, and flour. These cakes are close to an English muffin but with a fluffier and softer texture. When griddled these cakes take on the iconic look of a crumpet which has holes that form on top. Crumpets can be eaten either by themselves or toasted topped with butter or jam. These cakes go great with your morning tea or coffee.
